The woman described by Q magazine as having a “soul, deep purr….” “brilliant… McDonald owns one of the finest voices of modern times, soul and intelligence combined”

She’s been writing and performing for over 30 years. From record deals with Capitol, MCA/Universal to her own label – Randan, Horse has nine albums under her belt and many classic songs in the back catalogue, including the iconic song Careful, (covered by Will Young). She has toured many times in her own right throughout the UK and Europe, USA and Australia and also opened or toured for other artists such as Tina Turner, Burt Bacharach and BB King.

Such a rare opportunity, in intimate surroundings, to hear a solo performance, in which her voice, in the truest sense, soars.

Opening night of the 11th Words and Music Festival 2018 sponsored by Gentleman Jacks

Delighted to be making my second visit to the beautiful town of Nantwich and the classy Words and Music festival. It's packed choc full of amazing artists. Last year I attended as special guests of Gentleman Jacks, appearing in their Barber shop. Standing in the window for the gig, it is definitely one of the most unusual spaces I have played in but one of the best! The shop was brimming over and people were in the street! This time I shall be indoors and safe to say back by popular demand !

WHAT THEY SAY -

The Festival takes place from 8 – 22 September and it promises to be a fantastic celebration.

Lesbians have been coming to Lesvos for the summer since the 50s, drawn to the birthplace of Sappho, the Greek poet who wrote about her love for women. The festival is a laid-back international event drawing women from all over the world to the beautiful, unspoiled Greek beach village of Skala Eressos. It is the best of a laid-back Greek summer holiday and an international festival rolled into one.

Skala Eressos has been a magnet for gay women since the ‘50s and the festival is a much more chilled-out affair than some of the more recently created lesbian festivals. The busy programme of events includes women-only walks and sunset cruises, art and culture, boat trips to the hot springs, breathing and drumming workshops, beach volleyball, DJs and live music, Greek dance classes and film screenings.
