HORSE with band

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue....

Horse needs no introduction. For those who have travelled with her in song throughout her career, her songs are simply part of their stories, their lives. From a vast back catalogue of songs to choose from, just what to leave out becomes an almost impossible task.
There will always be the many requested favourites, but there will also be an opportunity to hear some of the new songs heading towards the next album, her 13th.

Horse with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra

A special celebration of classical and contemporary fusion

Prepare for a musical event of historic proportions! Legendary Scottish singer-songwriter Horse returns to Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom for a once-in-a-lifetime performance with the world-renowned Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO), an exclusive highlight of Celtic Connections 2026.

This special concert celebrates the 30th anniversary of a truly groundbreaking moment in UK music history: their original 1995 collaboration marked the first time an orchestra ever performed at the UK’s most celebrated live music venue.

Hailed as one of Britain's finest vocalists, Horse (Horse McDonald) reunites with the SCO, under the baton of long-time collaborator Paul Leonard-Morgan. This performance not only honours the three decades since that landmark 1995 show, but also coincides with the 35th anniversary of Horse's debut album, The Same Sky.

The initial 1995 arrangements, crafted by Audrey Riley, transformed tracks from The Same Sky and her follow-up God's Home Movie, forging an unforgettable fusion of classical and contemporary music. This new show will see the SCO elevate a selection of beloved tracks from across Horse’s remarkable career, re-imagined for the grandeur of the orchestra.

As Horse says: "Music brings us together, no matter how diverse. Returning to the Barrowland with the SCO, where it all began, is incredibly special, for those who were there in 1995 and for a new generation of fans."
